Consistent, ripe, fresh.
I've long been a fan of South Africa's Chenin Blancs - they come in many guises and the Spier is a great starting point - it's equally affordable and tasty.
I've been reviewing this wine for a decade and consistency is key. Golden in colour it offers aromas of yellow apples, honey, grapefruit and exotic flowers. It is concentrated and juicy, has a kiss of sweetness and slick creamy texture, there is a presence of oak and spice carved out with bright lemony flavours.
Pair: Fish, spicy cuisines, white meats, summer salads and soft cheeses.
