Spiced, earthy, savoury..
South Okanagan's Moon Curser specializes in a broad range of varieties, rarely seen in Canada, while Malbec is slightly more common, their version is generally more opulent, but not this 2020 vintage.
This one was aged in new (25%) and neutral French oak barriques. Spiced chuck and bacon fat, dried herbs, peppery spices, leather, black berries and espresso aromas dominate the nose. It's a savoury wine, earthy and spiced with plenty of dried herbal flavours.
Pair: roasted or grilled meats, hard cheeses, spaghetti Bolognese or hearty mushroom and herb risotto.
