Clos du Soleil 'Signature', Similkameen Valley, British Columbia
Readers rated this wine:
Statuesque, elegant, expressive.
Clos du Soleil's flagship estate red is made from four Similkameen vineyards and the 2019 is comprised of: Cabernet Sauvignon (31%), Merlot (42%), Cabernet Franc (10%), Malbec (13%) and Petit Verdot (4%). The wine was aged 16 months in French oak barrels before bottling. The nose is sweet and rich; black raspberries, kirsch, vanilla and licorice, mocha, baking spices and pipe tobacco aromas dominate. The palate is potent and supple with the same sort of sweet concentration as the nose. Oodles of purple fruit and brown spice flavours here. Lush, expressive and lengthy.
