Burrowing Owl Estate Winery Syrah, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Fresh, textural, fragrant.
The Syrah grapes were harvested from estate Burrowing Owl and Eva's vineyards in Oliver and Osoyoos. Some of the Syrah grapes were co-fermented with a portion of Viognier grapes. The wine was then transferred into barrels to allow for malolactic fermentation followed by ageing 16 months in a combination of barrels. Wild black berries, dried roses and mulberry, wet cedar and tobacco, dark chocolate and coffee. The entry is supple with good fruit expression and cocoa and espresso woven with vanilla, finely ground pepper and cola spices. Balanced and fresh it has nice textural chew overall. ©copyright 2022 Daenna Van Mulligen
