Bartier Bros. Piquette Rose, Okanagan Valley, BC
Readers rated this wine:
Located on the Black Sage in Oliver, Bartier Bros. make honest, classic wines of quality. Piquette has historically been the winemaker and vineyard crew's wine. It's a simple wine made from a second pressing of grapes after the initial, intended wine. It has lower sugar and therefore alcohol (4.2%) and BB adds some carbonation to their version to keep it interesting and refreshing. It's also a way for a winery to bring in extra income from what would otherwise be deemed leftovers; crucial in times like these. As I mention above this is a simple wine suggesting tart red berries and rhubarb, grapefruit and cranberry. It's dry light and crisp on the palate. ©copyright 2024 Daenna Van Mulligen
