Gemtree 'Dragon's Blood' Shiraz, McLaren Vale, South Australia
Readers rated this wine:
Intensity, opulent, aromatic.
McLaren Vale's family owned Gemtree farms organically and biodynamically. This opulent 2021 Shiraz was matured in French oak barrels.
Inky notes of black raspberry and mocha, violets, licorice, tealeaf and tar are underscored by brown spices. Generous purple fruit dominates the palate and is woven with chocolate liqueur, Turkish coffee and baking spices. It has some tannic chew and notable intensity.

Gemtree 'Uncut' Shiraz, McLaren Vale, South Australia
Readers rated this wine:
Textural, intensity, fresh.
McLaren Vale's family owned Gemtree farms organically and biodynamically. This opulent 2021 Shiraz was matured in French oak barrels.
On this Shiraz the nose is reminiscent of cola gummies alongside black cherry, raspberry, spice cake and just a whiff of soy sauce. It's fresh on the entry and has some texture on the palate and sweet cocoa, coffee and cola spice flavours. Good intensity on the palate but I'd love more acidity.

Jaume Serra 'Cristalino' Brut, Cava Spain
Readers rated this wine:
Value, classic, creamy.
Consistency is the key, when you produce multi-millions of bottle of fizz.
From the wine and fruit juice empire of JG Carrion, this traditional method sparkling goes through a secondary fermentation in its own bottle. The production facility outside of Barcelona is impressive - it's a mostly robotic facility, the quantity of cava stored in the underground cellars mind-bending. The quality and value ratio is unquestionable.
Classic autolytic notes - think rising bread dough and toasted croissants along with yellow apples, buttered nuts and lemon curds. It has a bold mousse with flavours to mimic the nose. Creamy yet lively, harmonious and good depth.
Excellent value.

Jorge Ordonez 'Botani' Moscatel Seco, Sierras de Malaga DOC
Readers rated this wine:

An utterly charming and compelling white, which is freshly scented with white raisins, ginger, candied citrus peel, apricots and freesia. It's spicy and zesty with a slick and oily weight; the mild sweetness is offset with lively acidity. Expect fantastic concentration with flavours of lemon balm, citrus, ginger and rose pastilles.
Unique and wonderful with excellent persistence.

Le Vieux Pin 'Petit Blanc' Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
Perfumed, exotic, juicy.
This vintage of the Petit Blanc is a blend of Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc and a splash of Muscat and Viogner.
It is wonderfully perfumed with orchard fruits, Satsuma orange, lime, honey and jasmine. A crisp dry palate offers tangy citrus, stony mineral and stone fruit. Bright and juicy with lovely weight, this is a solid, enjoyable quaff.
