Bodega Beronia Reserva, Rioja Spain, 2001
Readers rated this wine:
Warning - this wine may spoil you for many others (or turn you into an old-world wine lover). A stunning example of an aged, silken wine. Very few places in the world are able to afford to, or have no interest in ageing wines - that's fine, but you'll see why this wine is so special.
Seductive cherries, raspberries, vanilla, chocolate, cinnamon and sweet spice cake aromas with rustic earthy undertones and iodine notes. The palate is amazingly fresh for its age - vibrant almost - sweet cherries, leather and shaved chocolate with spice lingering on the finish. Great acidity and integrated tannins make this wine perfect - right now.
Exceptional value!
