Chateau Viranel Cuvee Tradition Rouge, Saint~Chinian, Languedoc, France, 2004
Readers rated this wine:
Seductive plum and briary berry aromas, spiced cocoa, savoury herbs, garrigue and rich dark earth. On the palate this traditional blend of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre and Carignan shows black fruits, dark chocolate, coffee, smoked meaty hints and warm spices. Medium to full-bodied with pleasing acidity and fine tannins on the finish.
(garrigue - often smelled or tasted in wines from the South of France representing the terroir and shrub-like plantlife in the region)
