Somewhat more fine-boned than its Malbec peers in the same price range, the Gascon shows blackcherry and blackberry, loads of pepper, vanilla and spice, undertones of prune and smoke and a hint of green olive. Spiced black fruits lead the palate, espresso and bittersweet cocoa and earthy savoury flavours linger on the finish. Nice elegance.
