Masi Tupungato Passo Doble, Argentina, 2007
Readers rated this wine:
Passo Doble means two-step in Spanish - its also a very seductive, dramatic dance that emulates the movements of a bullfighter.
From Italian producer Masi, comes this Passo Doble a blend of Corvina (also used in making Amarone) and Malbec from their Argentine estate.
The aromas are rich and dark, purple berry fruit, fruitcake and mocha, saddle leather and spice. The palate is supple, it has great acidity and powdery tannins, the flavours are intense; spicy and earthy with plenty of espresso and pepper lingering on the finish.
