It's such a shame that consumers cannot see the beautiful Vini-Lok glass stopper hidden under the cap of so many German Rieslings like this one. I think it would be a great selling feature, but there are a couple things to consider; the glass topper getting chipped while being stocked (that would mean a no-sell) and the fact that Vini-Lok only comes in clear - which means they don't match the bottle green or brown of many of the German/Alsatian bottles. So I persevere in my plugs and hope someone will find a solution...
The Wisselbrunnen is a vineyard in Hattenheimer in the Rheingau region and it produces wines like this with elegance and minerality. Expect snappy citrus, loads of slate minerality and lemondrops with a suggestion of stonefruit and loads of white grapefruit. On the palate its crisp and expectedly clean there is a hint of fresh herbs, some zesty, pithy flavours and limeade. The citric and mineral flavours linger...
