This is a confident Shiraz, one that doesn't need any gimmicks to impress.
Oodles of fruit - smoked cherries and mulberries, licorice, mocha, spice cake and vanilla. It's finessed on the palate, plush and warm with black cherries, smooth chocolate and allspice. Full-bodied and decadent but it manages to maintain the delicate balance between power and freshness.
Lamb is a given with this wine but slow grilled eggplant with rosemary, garlic and olive oil with lots of bread to sop it up...will do in a pinch.
