Jargon Pinot Noir, California, 2006
Readers rated this wine:
The newly released Jargon drills directly through the skin of vitus vinifera's snob-magnet Pinot Noir with a label that poo poos winespeak or "jargon" (exactly what I am doing here) saying "our wine speaks for itself".
Certainly it pops out of the glass with raspberry and cherry aromas, cedarbox and spice, forest floor, licorice and smoke. The palate is leaner than the nose leads you to expect but it's juicy and smooth, flavours are mixed berries and spice with a smoky/meaty finish.
A good price for the Pinot category and it will pair well with fish burgers or gourmet pizzas.
